December 2019 Prayer Letter

Dear Friends of CrossRoads,

Our first abortion-minded client received an ultrasound two weeks ago. Even going into the ultrasound room her mind was made up; abortion was the only option she was willing to consider. To her, ultrasound was a necessary step in procuring an abortion, but God used the ultrasound images to save her baby's life. During her follow-up appointment with Lyndia she decided to keep her child. Our CrossRoads staff and volunteers have the privilege of walking alongside her during her pregnancy and early parenting days, ensuring that she has the support she desperately needs and longs for. God is at work and we are thankful to be part of it.

God is growing the ministry of CrossRoads. In order to keep up with the increasing demands, we are thankful that Brenda Feece has accepted the position as our CEO. Brenda is uniquely gifted for this role, because of her strong faith, previous experience and passion for helping single mothers. In an article by Greenwood Today, she quoted Proverbs 31:8 as her guiding verse, "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves and ensure justice for those being crushed." Please pray for her as she does just that.

CrossRoads will now be open Monday to Friday 9:00 - 5:00. Brenda would love to meet you. Feel free to call and schedule a private tour. .

There are also some upcoming events at which you can meet our staff and show your support for life:

The annual Stand Up For Life March and Rally will be held in Columbia on January 11. The line-up for the march is at 11:00 a.m. at the USC Russell House on Greene St. The rally will commence at noon at the State House. Those wishing to carpool are welcome to meet at Our Lady of Lourdes parking lot at 8:30 am. Please contact Brad Thompson from the Knights of Columbus at 864-910-2630 if you would like a ride.

January 19, is Sanctity of Life Sunday. Please let us know if you would like to launch a baby bottle campaign or invite a speaker to visit your church on that Sunday.

CrossRoads is hosting a fundraising Ceilidh (a Scottish dance pronounced "kaylee") at Calvary Chapel on January 24 at 7:00pm. Tickets are $25 per person. Click here to purchase a ticket.

January is and exciting month, especially as we are hoping to purchase a house on 506 Grace Street. Please pray for our zoning change application from residential to commercial to go through.

But first, we are thankful to pause and remember a baby that was conceived by a single mom, and born into poverty. This baby was God incarnate, God with us. God identifies with the rejected, the unwanted, the disadvantaged. He understands and loves the young moms who walk into our center. And He sent His Son to save them and their babies. May we be God's hands and feet as we share the Good News with them..

In Christ,
Kerstin Hering | Director of Operations
